AFP Programming

The core of the AFP mission is supporting the fundraising field and the professionals who choose the calling to serve the community through nonprofits. The most visible way local chapters achieve this is to provide professional development and education.

The AFP Greater Philadelphia Chapter strives to be the go-to resource when it comes to furthering the fundraising field and implementing quality programs in the Philadelphia Region. We can only do this by hearing the successes and struggles experienced in the day-to-day work of our members.

The new co-chairs of the AFP-GCP Program Committee, Elizabeth “Liz” Hefner, Director of Advancement for Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission, and Colleen Becht-Foltz, Gift Planning Officer for the Red Cross serving PA, have made the voices of the fundraising and nonprofit community the top priority in developing the program calendar.

In 2020 and 2021, focusing on the needs of our members has never been more important as we navigate lockdowns, cutbacks, changes in donor behavior, and the uncertainty of not knowing when we will be able to gather again. The Program Committee takes these concerns to heart and strives to provide content pertinent to the realities of today while ensuring a safe space for discussion.

As we move towards a more hopeful and vaccinated 2021, we want to hear from you, our members, regarding the topics that will be most helpful as we shift to a new normal. Please reach out to Liz or Colleen with ideas or if you would like to join the Program Committee.
