In the non-profit world it is extremely easy to get caught up in the craziness of managing a fundraising department. The daily activities are endless; thank donors, track metrics, run events, prospect for new funders, write grants, and the list goes on and on. One of the things that gets lost in the shuffle is the concept of brand. What is my message? Who is it relevant to? Why would someone give to my organization? These and other key components, are important to catalyzing your fundraising efforts. Organizations that have strong brand identity and voice as well as a strong visual identity, typically have robust relationships with their funders and as a result, robust support.

This workshop will explore various aspect of branding and communications and how your message is a foundational component of any fundraising campaign. We will discuss what is a brand? What is a communications plan? How do these things catalyze my fundraising efforts and raise the overall visibility of my organization, helping me to develop stronger and more fruitful relationships with my organization’s supporters? Tools will be given to help nonprofit leaders and fundraising professionals assess their brand and discover ways to build it in order to grow their development efforts.
