“The best thing to give to your enemy is forgiveness; to an opponent, tolerance; to a friend, your heart; to your child, a good example; to a father, deference; to your mother, conduct that will make her proud of you; to yourself, respect; to all men, charity.”

Benjamin Franklin

We live in a world of constant change and it is no different in the private foundation philanthropy world. Foundation preferences are constantly changing. It is challenging to keep up-to-date. In this session we will explore the different types of foundations, the various ways in which they operate, and growing trends in the private foundation philanthropy. To be successful in writing winning grant proposals, you must be able to match the funder's preferences with your organization's programs and mission. We will look at tools to help us research foundations, as well as how to read the foundation's IRS form 990.

Please stick around for a Q&A with the presenter immediately following her presentation.

After, please join your AFP-GPC colleagues for 5:30pm happy hour with light appetizers provided at Tir na Nog (1600 Arch St, Philadelphia, PA 19103 - one block away!). Happy Hour attendance is complimentary for those who attended the session.
