“The best thing to give to your enemy is forgiveness; to an opponent, tolerance; to a friend, your heart; to your child, a good example; to a father, deference; to your mother, conduct that will make her proud of you; to yourself, respect; to all men, charity.”

Benjamin Franklin

In this session, we will focus on the role of gift planning in a campaign – highlighting the issues and strategies for effectively incorporating gift planning into your campaign and more broadly into your development program. As we consider the ever growing size and frequency of campaigns, the case for gift planning has never been stronger. Campaigns increasingly require greater strategic planning, fiscal integrity, and performance metrics. What counts and how do you count it? How do you make gift planning a collaborative team effort? We will talk about what worked for the University of Pennsylvania during two multi-billion-dollar campaigns - and what might work for you and your organization.

Please note: This session, led by Lynn Malzone Ierardi, replaces her original session titled Storytelling: The Secret Sauce of Fundraising originally scheduled for the same date and time. That session is postponed.
