Mission

Founded in 1960 as the National Society of Fund Raisers, AFP fosters development and growth of fundraising professionals and promotes high ethical standards in the fundraising profession.
The Greater Philadelphia Chapter was established in 1968 and now has 350+ members.
AFP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing innumerable benefits and fundraising resources to its members.
The Mission of AFP-GPC is to enhance the philanthropic effectiveness of the Greater Philadelphia community through the promotion of ethical practices, professional development, education, communication, leadership, and service.
The Ten Star Award honors those chapters who have accomplished many of the key objectives outlined in the AFP Strategic Plan. The award encourages chapters to perform specific activities that increases professionalism in fundraising, while promoting public awareness of philanthropy. AFP-GPC is a 10 Star Chapter.
AFP International Headquarters will publish a list of ten chapter goals. Chapters that successfully accomplish six of those goals during the year – and submit a nomination form – will be honored with the Friends of Diversity Designation.
The IDEA Champion Designation recognizes those chapters who have accomplished many of the key objectives outlined in the Promote Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access strategic pathway.
